Welcome to MidwestEnduros.com, created and updated by Ryan Moss. My hopes are to post news about upcoming enduro events, results from each race, and points standings from each series. The series that I try to cover are: AMA District 14, 16, 17, 23 and IERA events. I will try to provide a simple and efficient way of getting the information out to the Midwest Enduro Riders.

Clubs:

I want to help promote your event and to provide information to the riders. So get your information to me and I will get it posted up for you. I can post before / after race information, route sheets, results, etc. Preferred methods are Microsoft Excel, Word, or PDF Files.

New Enduro Riders:

Please check out the About Enduros tab to get information about the sport of enduros. Lots of your questions can be answered there.

District 14 Update from Mike Maurer:

As we start to plan for the 2021 enduro series, our team will not be changing. I will continue as the enduro chairman and I have asked Jeramy Pelaston to be the vice chairman again. Kris Tolly will be our treasurer and Logan Densmore will be our points keeper. Fred Kraemer, Vic and Tina Flegel will also be our rider representatives.

The only rule change was related to the fee charged to the clubs for the district banquet fund. Some of the clubs might consider an adjustment to their entry fees. We discussed how our events are a great deal for the cost.

We are planning our annual awards banquet for March 20th . The COVID virus not only impacted our racing/riding season, but also required us to change locations of our banquet. We have signed a contract with the Soaring Eagle Casino for a banquet on March 20th .
We only had 5 events this year and our two largest events were cancelled – Roselawn and Jack Pine. The Matthews National had over 500 riders, but most of them were from outside of District 14. Our budget for banquet awards is a lot less than last year and we will have fewer awards this year. The monogrammed jackets will not be available to everyone, but we have plaques/trophies for everyone on this list:

AMA District 14 Update:

D14 enduro had a shortened season, but had two successful events in November.- your chairman and D14 President actually rode both events.

With each of these events being multiple districts we are working to finalize the point standings and are making plans for the banquet on March 20th at Soaring Eagle Casino - more information to follow.

Our next event is the sanctioning meeting where we will determine the 2021 schedule and discuss any proposed rule changes. We are coordinating the schedules with D14 hare scrambles and Michigan Sprint Enduro in an attempt to avoid any duplicate weekends. If you have any proposed rule changes, please submit them to me or one of your rider reps (Fred Kraemer, Vic and Tina Flegel) by November 30th as the sanctioning meeting is on Saturday, December 5th.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

MidwestEnduros.com question:

Curious how many people still come to the page. With Facecrack and other social media sights not sure this page is needed anymore. A little truth is renewal for the domain and hosting is coming up and it has me wondering about renewing it. It's not a ton of money but enough to question it. If anyone wants to provide feedback shoot me an email.

Schedule Updates:

Updated the schedules page with all known updates. I'm trying to get dates up to to date but things change all the time. Always check with the club before the event. Also check the Facebook page, much easier to update that since I can share posts there.

General FYI about scoring and protest period:

This season many of the clubs and directors from the Midwest Enduro series have received more than the usual amount of communications about a riders score being wrong long after the event and protest period is over. Per the AMA rules once the protest period is over the results are final. What this means is it's the riders responsibility to stay and make sure your score is correct, your class is correct, etc. not bail to get home early and then call, txt, email that night or two days later that you score was wrong and it should be fixed; classes can be fixed but that should be done before you leave the event. Yes I know everyone has a long drive and sometimes you just have to leave so if that is the case have a buddy check for you. While it's no fun for you to have a messed up score it's no fun for a rider to think he got X place at the event then when points are posted he got X. And truth be told it's no fun for the clubs and the Directors of each series to be in the middle of that. So please stay or have your score checked, especially if you are a point’s chaser and want the correct score / points.

Due to the extent of cancellations and questionable reschedules, the Competition Committee has decided to cancel the entire points series for 2020. This applies to all three series: Off-Road, Enduro and Trials. Some events may still be held (that decision is up to the individual host clubs).
